Trump Trying to Stop the Mueller Investigation Is a 'Constitutional Crisis'

According to Moveon.org, senior advisor Karine Jean-Pierre, if Trump tries to stop the Mueller investigation after forcing Jeff Sessions out, we'll have a “constitutional crisis” on our hands.

“He is trying to get closer and closer to the Russia investigation, to the Mueller probe, so he can stop it because he knows he’s in danger,” she explained. “We know that Donald Trump has already tried to fire Mueller more than once, and his White House counsel stopped him from doing that, and actually threatened to quit if Donald Trump fired Robert Mueller.”

The multiple indictments that have been made have more than made it clear that this investigation is not a “witch hunt.” Paul Manafort, who was Trump’s campaign chairman has already been taken down after five months, and Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen has been working with the investigation.

Trump seems like he’ll do anything to stop this investigation but Jean-Pierre said all this doesn’t need to happen if Congress would just do their jobs and put legislation forward to make sure that Mueller is protected.

“They have been complicit in his obstruction of justice,” she stated. “We need to not just vote but take to the street. We need to make sure that we stand tall and make sure that Congress hears us and they do the right thing…”
