“Blue Clues” was a beloved show for plenty of people growing up. It had many kids excitedly shouting at their television screens, looking for clues, and singing along with the bouncy blue dog. And soon, a new generation will get to experience the fun. “Blue’s Clues” is getting a reboot — and you could be the new Steve. The original show aired from 1996-2007, so it’s been more than 10 years since we saw Blue leaves clues. Steve Burns left the show after 100 episodes in 2002 and went on to record with the band The Flaming Lips — and it’s unclear if his listening skills ever improved.
The show is on the hunt for their new Steve. The open casting call is looking for “males and females of all ethnicities.”
In July 2017, comedian Yedoya Travis said he wanted the job, tweeting, “They said if I get enough retweets they will bring back Blue’s Clues and I can be Steve.”
Since then the tweet has gotten more than 147,000 retweets — here’s hoping Blue gets a Steve/Stephanie of color because that would mean awesome implications for the reboot. There’s no word yet on when the show will be out again, but we’re excited to see what an updated version will look like.
