2017 breakout recording artist Cardi B is continuing to shatter records in 2018. The Bronx MC is the first rapper to have three tracks on Billboard’s Top 10 simultaneously. The tracks include ‘Motosport’ with Migos and Nicki Minaj as well as G-Eazy’s ‘Not Limit’. The third spot is her renowned solo track ‘Bodak Yellow’. The song was released on June 16, 2017, and samples rapper Kodak Black’s song “No Flockin.” She is only the second female rapper to lead the chart with a solo track, and song surprisingly smashed past seasoned artists on the charts like Taylor Swift.
Though she’s the first rapper to hold the honor, two other bands/artist also can say they’ve had three hits out at once ‑ the Beatles and Ashanti. Along with the three chart toppers, her new solo track ‘Bartier Cardi’ debuted at number 14, and she’s featured on Ozuna’s ‘La Modelo’. She also just appeared on a track with Bruno Mars titled ‘Finesse,’ which is accompanied by a video that features a serious 90’s-themed aesthetic. The artist has taken to Instagram to celebrate her new record, but depending on the success of the other tracks she’s featured on, she could be celebrating another chart-related victory soon.
