Finland Opens Hotel Inspired By 'Game Of Thrones'
This “Game of Thrones” hotel will literally give you chills. HBO Nordic teamed up with Lapland Hotels to construct this frozen destination.
Located in Finland, the lodging is 23 degrees Fahrenheit inside. It’s a snow village that has 24 rooms filled with details in the spirit of the show. There’s a 120-seat restaurant, a theater and intricate snow sculptures that allow you to sleep under a giant white walker. It also has a bar to stay warm and a chapel for super fans who want to be married at the location. And, of course, the theme wouldn’t be complete without an actual ice throne, perfect for themed photo ops.
The whole fortress used more than 770,000 pounds of ice and took 50 people to build it — professional ice sculptors from around the world created all the intricate designs inside. It opens every December, but this is the first time it’s had a “Game of Thrones” theme. You have to hurry if you want to see if though, because it’s only open through April 2018.
Also, if you’re curious about how to stay warm in a freezing cold hotel, they also offer high-quality thermal sleeping bags for you to sleep in.
