The Democrat-led House passed a bill in February 2019 requiring background checks on 100% of gun sales — but the bill is unlikely to pass the Republican-controlled Senate.Julianne Moore says that the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting prompted her to get involved in gun safety advocacy, gun laws and gun legislation, and gun reform. "I couldn't be quiet about it anymore...If I were going to keep my kids safe I need to do something about it," says Moore.
