Karamo Brown Is Breaking Down Toxic Masculinity On and Off Screen

“Society stifles a man's creativity and his emotional side and curiosity.” — “Queer Eye” star Karamo Brown says breaking down toxic masculinity helped him accept his “holistic self.”

Karamo, a “Queer Eye” and “The Real World” star, sat down with NowThis to talk about toxic masculinity and the phrase “coming out.” He is a member of the Fab Five on the Netflix series “Queer Eye,” a remake of “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.” He and the other Fab 5 members—Tan France, Bobby Berk, Jonathan Van Ness (of “Gay of Thrones” fame), and Antoni Porowski—became instant sensations.

Karamo, who was a “Real World” star before becoming the ”culture” expert on Netflix's “Queer Eye” remake, helps people in various ways, from urging them to face their insecurities to helping them build confidence. As part of the “Queer Eye” cast, Karamo really change people's lives for the better while offering up some classic funny moments for the Netflix audience.
