“Lady Bird” reminded all of us how much we love our moms — and the NowThis staff is explaining how it made them feel.
“When I saw Lady Bird,” it was the first time I ever saw a complex mother-daughter relationship that made me think what I had growing up with normal.” Emily explained “The way that Lady Bird and her mom fight is so real, so honest."
Tahseen stated, “Me and my mom would bicker and fight all the time — all the time! And something that said to me, she’s like, ‘Tahseen, when you grow up, that’s when you’re going to realize how much I mean to you.’”
Kavish explained, “The end scene, of course, with Lady Bird on the phone with her mom, I think every college student within the first few months of heading to college has that experience.”
Sari stated, “I call my mom after everything so I probably called her right after ‘Lady Bird.’”
Shelby stated, “My mom kept turning to me the whole movie and saying like, ‘Is this about you?’”
Hunter stated, something we see so often is that you either get along really well with your mom, or you don’t speak to your mom. It’s a spectrum, and like, you move through it so fluidly throughout your life.”
