Los Angeles Rams Wide Receiver Brandin Cooks surprised the team custodian with two free tickets to the Super Bowl for both he and his son.
The Los Angeles Rams go up against the New England Patriots on Sunday February 3, and Cooks arranged to show their appreciation to members of the organization that might otherwise have their hard work go unnoticed. Cooks arranged to surprise Alfonso Garcia, the team’s custodian, with not only two free tickets to the Bowl game but also airfare and hotel accommodations.
The heartwarming surprise was caught on tape and shared on the Rams Twitter page.
“On behalf of the team and the organization, we would love to invite you and your son Josh--round trip, Super Bowl,” Cooks told an initially confused Garcia. “Come hang out with us. You mean so much to us, and you know that you’re special, what you do around here, and everything that you do does not go unnoticed. So we thank you for that, and would love for you to join us and support you screaming loud. I’m gonna need you out there, all right?”
Garcia stood in disbelief as he accepted the gift from Cooks, repeating, “Oh my God,” and describing the opportunity as a “dream come true.”
“This is a dream come true, man,” Garcia said. “Oh my God. Since I was a little boy man, oh my God, maybe one day I will get to go to the Super Bowl. And I get to take my song because of you guys, man.”
Both the Rams and Garcia will be traveling to Atlanta on February 3, 2019 to take on the Patriots and potentially win their second Super Bowl in history, but win or lose Cooks and the team can rest easy knowing they made dreams come true.
