This restaurant made a $920 burger in Shaun White’s honor and White himself made a surprise visit to taste it. In honor of the Olympics, Santa burger in Pyeogchang is offering a “Flying Tomato” burger — which is two cheeseburger patties topped with chicken wings. The restaurant owner is a massive fan of White’s and couldn’t believe his eyes when White strolled in.
“I’m a big fan of him. Big fan of him. So, first time: ‘It’s real?’ First time, I think, ‘Is it real? This is Shuan White? It is not a dream?’ Shaun White tells me it is real. Oh my God, unbelievable. So, he ordered from me the Flying Tomato Burger. So, I cooked for him. Yeah. This is a — today is a happy, a very happy day.” Chef Cha Gewn Sol stated.
White is currently competing in his 4th Olympics — he’s previously won gold in Snowboarding Halfpipe in 2006 and 2010. He’s garnered plenty of fans in past Olympics for his amazing snowboarding skills and his fiery red hair, which earned him the moniker “The Flying Tomato.” And though his haircut has gotten significantly more subdued as of late, his legacy is still well known — even in the food world.
