This Surviving Spouse Helps Military Families Cope With Loss

Bonnie Carroll retired as a Major in the Air Force Reserve following 31 years of service. Carroll is a 2015 recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the surviving spouse of Brigadier General Thomas Carroll. In 1994, Bonnie launched the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) to help military families of fallen heroes go through the grief journey, providing resources and coping strategies to help them come to terms with loss.
