Postal Workers In Tulsa, Oklahoma Stole Weed Out Of The Mail

Two postal workers stole weed out of the mail. Postal service supervisor Laura Mae Campbell admitted to taking part in a scheme with another employee to steal cannabis from packages at a Tulsa sorting facility. Agents began conducting surveillance in August after they received a hotline tip that employees were rifling through packages and stealing cannabis and other drugs from the mail.

Videos reportedly showed postal worker Derek Miller, also known as “Chuck the sniffer,” removing parcels from the mail stream and taking them to Campbell’s office. When law enforcement searched their homes on September 6, 2017, They found more than 60 pounds of weed in Miller’s home and more than 10 pounds in Campbell’s home.

In a plea agreement filed on January 3, Miller admitted to stealing the cannabis and other drugs beginning in the Fall of 2015.

He stated, “I was looking for high-grade marijuana mailed from a state on the west coast that I could remove and steal. Because it was difficult to do this in secret, I approached (Campbell) and asked her to assist for a share of the marijuana I found and removed from parcel,”

Campbell admitted to being a lookout for Miller, but denied opening the mail. Both will be sentenced in Spring 2018.
