Tow Toronto officers ate weed and called the cops on themselves. Constables Vito Dominelli and Jamie Young were suspended after they allegedly consumed cannabis edibles. Freaked out, and called for backup.
According to CTV, the duo was conducting a plain-clothed surveillance, in Toronto’s North End. When one officer reported he felt like he was going to faint and said his partner had left the vehicle. Sources say the call for assistance was made after one of the officers ended up in a tree. When police from another division responded to the call, one of the responding officers slipped on ice and sustained a head injury — she was then sent to the hospital with a concussion.
Mike, McCormack, president of the Toronto Police Association declined to comment on the circumstances of the incident, but he did confirm that the two officers had consumed edibles. The two have been suspended with pay — and it’s still unclear how they got the edibles. But an investigation will look into whether they were seized as evidence in a dispensary raid or obtained personally. Depending on the outcome, the officers could be charged — it looks like no one is safe from the power of edibles — not even Toronto’s finest.
